Jesus spent a major portion of His ministry setting the multitudes free from all manner of bondages, physical sicknesses, emotional torments, mental illnesses and diseases.  In fact, when He describes the ministry He has been anointed to carry out, He describes it this way, “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because He hath anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor; He hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and the recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised.”    Luke 4:18 

Deliverance (setting the oppressed free) is not really an optional ministry in the Body of Christ. Multitudes cannot receive complete release from illnesses, bondages and oppression until they receive deliverance. Jesus sent His disciples out and commanded them to cast out devils. In the exact same way, in Mark 16: 17-19, He gave His church the same command to cast out devils, It is a vital part of the Gospel of the Kingdom which He preached.
